Purpose: The hotel industry has become a competitive industry at the international level in recent decades, and countries have tended to use developed models and new techniques, and provide innovations to maximize income from it. As a result, it is critical to pay attention to how we can manage hotel income while noticing travel and passenger transportation costs and use modeling compatible with this field to optimize goal achievement.Methodology: The problems of optimizing hotel revenue management, passenger cost management, and analyzing how to expand the transportation used by them have been studied in this research. One of the key issues studied is to predict how to transport a passenger and choose its type based on different modes of travel such as air, rail, water, and road based on the amount of the passenger’s budget.Findings: Many effective factors and criteria have been considered in the modeling done, and the amount of hotel reception capacity in the selected cities of travelers and the provision of various types of rooms with different pricing, and the examination of elements related to the services provided to travelers by the hotel and different accesses of the hotel, which is based on the hotel’s revenue model, affect on. It is useful to estimate the state of competitive factors of hotels. Noteworthy, the transfer and mode of transportation have been determined to predict the level of demand for hotel reservations for all types of travelers during different periods in different tourism seasons. This subject is based on the traveler’s budget allocated for paying expenses during the travel pattern and the related results extracted from the estimated income model, as well as the influencing factors in choosing the hotel and transportation.Originality/Value: In the current study, the design of NP-Hard problems led to the use of exact methods in small-sized problems and two multi-objective meta-heuristic algorithms, namely NSGA-II and MOPSO, in medium- and large-sized problems. The computation results show that the proposed algorithms are efficient and suitable methods for problem-solving.

Purpose: Extent of an application and importance of a welding industry and economic opportunities of this industry need to develop appropriate strategies to pave the way for the economic growth as a strategic industry with sustainable competitive advantage. The high cost of the gas tungsten arc welding (GTAW) process in a welding industry due to the advantages of excellent welding quality and low complexity of this process requires management. Therefore, careful study and evaluation in the correct use of the GTAW process with financial resources seems to be very necessary. Modeling leads to efficient decision making along with competitive advantage in strategic planning. Today, by planning, sustainability goals and considerations can also be achieved in addition to achieving economic goals.Methodology: In this study, a linear programming model for the problem of minimizing the cost of the GTAW process according to different automatic or manual conditions is presented by a skilled welding operator. GAMS software is used to solve the problem and validate the proposed model. Finally, to evaluate the applicability of the model, four scenarios of the case study are solved and explained as well as sensitivity analysis.Findings: The results show that from an economic point of view, the proposed model can reduce costs and increase efficiency and customer satisfaction. The proposed approach leads to the improvement of the shielded tungsten arc welding process and the increase of management insight.Originality/Value: Mathematical cost modeling can provide a comprehensive analysis of management decisions. The cost minimization model helps managers to understand the cost structure and behavior. Considering the scope of welding application, minimizing the costs of this activity will lead to a reduction in the total cost of an industry

Purpose: Increasing the population, followed by increasing human needs and problems related to transportation, has led managers to seek for solutions by the goal of increasing economic profitability and reducing costs. Therefore, in this study, a set of location decisions, vehicle routing and inventory management has been used as the main tools to face with these problems.Methodology: model has been solved and validated by Gams software using Epsilon method in small scale. Since this is one of the NP-Hard problems, meta-heuristic algorithms, MOPSO, MOFF, MOIWO, NSGA-II have been used to solve large-scale problems.Finding: The results of all comparative criteria show the superiority of the MOIWO algorithm over other algorithms and the appropriate efficiency of these methods in solving the mathematical model, especially in high dimensions and short times.Originality / Value: In this study, the design of hazardous materials transportation network is considered by considering the decisions related to location, routing, inventory. For this purpose, a new multi-objective mathematical model with the objectives of minimizing cost, minimizing travel time and maximum social responsibility is presented. This mathematical model can be used in different areas and different dimensions.

By increasing the use of container transportation, one of the existing problems is the constant capacity of container terminals due to problems, such as lengthy construction process, lack of budget and space to build new locations, as well as lack of manpower. Also, this constant capacity leads to problems such as reduced trade relations, increased maintenance and warehousing costs, increased transportation costs, and increased loading and unloading times, as well as container allocation problems. To solve this problem without increasing the area of the terminal, this paper present a mathematical model to allocate containers that can be used not only to solve this problem, but also in other cases such as transportation and shipping used. Due to the size of problems used in this research, a heuristic algorithm, namely LOGIC algorithm is used. According to studies, carried out in the literature, this algorithm has not been used in relevant problems so far. Also, due to the development of the LOGIC algorithm in this paper, it can be used for other large-scale optimization problems. The development of the proposed algorithm can be improved to solve the layout problem of maritime containers with other real constraints.
